Berlin Airlift

Capt. Howard S. Derr, an Airlift pilot flying C-54s with the 60th Troop Carrier Group at Wiesbaden Air Force Base, call the tower for taxi & takeoff
instructions Pilots are scheduled for take-offs at three minute intervals,
and usually know the
exact time they are to
leave the ground before
entering the aircraft.
Capt. Derr's home is in
Quilan, Oklahoma.
