Our Principal
Mr.
Barry Hughey
Mr. Hughey
has been principal at J.P. Cowen for eleven years. Prior to becoming
a principal, he taught Math and Government on a secondary level,
for twenty years. In addition he coached girl's basketball and
was extremely successful. Since coming to J.P. Cowen Mr. Hughey
has implemented various programs such as, Classroom Phonics, HOSTS,
C.E.I., and Reading Recovery.
Outside of
his school duties, Mr. Hughey is active in his church and choir
activities, and enjoys the game of golf.
