Ismail Cakmak was born in Pazar district of Rize Province of Turkey in 1962 and received his B.A. degree in chemical Engineering from Selcuk University in 1986. Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry was granted by Karadeniz Technical University in 1995 where he studied on the synthesis of block copolymers. by redox, thermal radical, ionic and photoinitiated free radical methods.
Presntly, Dr.Cakmak is on the staff in the Department of  Sience Education , Karadeniz Technical University, as Assistant Professor.
Dr.Cakmak is interested in Amateur Radio and tracking. He obtained his licence with a  TA7J call sign from the Radio Directorate of Telecommunications in 1990 .
He resides in Sogutlu district of Trabzon province with his wife nahide and two children, Aysenur and Engin.
