About my Masters Thesis
I was so lucky to be funded to conduct my research in Uganda. My research topic was; Assessing the relationship between literacy levels and family planning perception and practice among women in Uganda: A case of Bushenyi District. I did this research between August and December of 1999. The main reason as to why I chose this topic is because of my personal concern at the rising population levels in the developing world(particularly Uganda) in light of limited resources. The results greatly agreed with my hypothesis that women's education enhances their perception and practice of family planning. This is a big lesson to Uganda and developing countries in general that to check the population explosion and foster development in general, these governments must invest heavily in women's education. I do thank my thesis committee; Dr.Dozier-Henry(Chair), Dr.Castine and Dr.McConnell for enabling me to analyze my data and helping me to understand the power of research in the modern era.
Career plan (Short-term and Long-term)
Having completed my Masters degree at FAMU (U.S.A), I intend to put all my effort in strengthening Kazo-Hill College School in terms of academic excellence, discipline and extra-curricular activities. After it has attained such a stable state, I wish to enroll for a Ph.D program preferably at Makerere University(KAMPALA-UGANDA). After my Ph.D, I intend to start Adult Literacy programs in the rural areas of Uganda. My main intention will be to use Adult literacy programs to reduce on disease, environmental degradation, poor nutrition and high birth rate associated with High death rates.I can always be contacted at;
