We made this!!!

You can make your own themes for TetriNET, which includes the background graphics in your and your opponents playing field, .wav sounds which play the sound effects and a .midi for music. The best way to get an idea is to study the default files that come with TetrisNET, the .bmp file for graphics and the .tnp file to see how things are setup and programmed. I use Paint Shop Pro to edit/create the .bmp backgrounds and windows notepad to edit the .tnp file and assign the various sound effects. Make sure you "save as" .tnp file extension from the file menu in your editor.

The first thing i do once i have decided on a theme is to do a search of the web to gather material, images and sounds, once i have enough i first start off by making the background graphics. You will need to create a new .bmp file or cut one out of an existing image keeping the same dimensions as the default .bmp file.As for the blocks and specials you can create your own or,as i do for now, copy the ones from the default .bmp file. Then decided on what .wav sounds you want and where, you can rename them if you like as it keeps it simple, just remember to save all wavs as 8-bit mono as this will keep the size of the overall theme down and also if you use long wavs you will have problems hearing them play completely for example if you have a long message wav and someone says a message in a game your wav will get cut short as soon as you rotate a piece as the rotate wav will be called so just bare that in mind and test out your theme a few times to see if it works out ok. The .tnp file for my RobotronX theme pack #1. As you will see you just have to make sure that everything is given the correct path.

When installing a theme I create a sub directory of TetrisNET with the name of the theme being used,so if I were to use my RobotronX theme i would have C:\Tetrinet\RoboX and the RoboX directory would contain all the .wav's .bmp .tnp .midi and a readme text file associated with the RobotronX theme, I find by creating sub directories I can have unlimited themes installed and switch back and forth "on the fly" when and as I feel like it and it keeps everything more organized. Please note you must name the theme dir exactly as it says in the text file that comes with the theme so that the path is correct otherwise you either will not see graphics and/or hear sounds, this is a common mistake some people make when installing my themes.
