Why do we say prayers every day?
Baha'u'llah says in the Writings that we are to pray every morning and every evening. He knew that it is important for us to talk with God and ask Him for help and guidance every day. By praying to God we are becoming more spiritual and are able to make the right decisions in life. We also become better people.
Here are some quotes from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh about saying prayers:
"Make, then, mention of thy Lord, that haply the heedless among Our servants may be admonished through thy words, and the hearts of the righteous be gladdened."
-Bahá'u'lláh (Gleanings p. 38)
"At the dawn of every day he should commune with God, and, with all his soul, persevere in the quest of his Beloved."
-Bahá'u'lláh (Gleanings p. 265)
"Whoso reciteth, in the privacy of his chamber, the verses revealed by God, the scattering anels of the Almighty shall scatter abroad the fragrance of the words uttered by his mouth, and shall cause the heart of every righteous man to throb. Though he may, at first, remain unaware of its effect, yet the virtue of the grace vouchsafed unto him must needs sooner or later exercise its influence upon his soul."
-Bahá'u'lláh (Gleanings p. 295)
