The martyrdom of the Báb is observed at noon on July 9th. On this day Bahá'is commemorate the martyrdom of the Báb, the Prophet Forerunner of Bahá'u'lláh. Some families will read the story of the Martrydom of the Báb from the Dawn Breakers, which begins on page 500.

What is martyrdom?
A person is considered a martyr when they suffer, make great sacrifices, or die for their beliefs.
The Báb was martyred, meaning He was put to death for His beliefs, His Cause. He was put to death for spreading His Teachings.
