~ This is a novel written by Wayson Choy. This novel is about three young children of an immigrant family. They each experience a very different childhood, depending on age and sex, as they encounter the complexities of birth and death, love and hate and kinship. No pictures are contained in the book. Is good for young adult and adult. Weakness will be no translation of some Chinese words.

~ This book talks about the history of Chinese Canadian. This included immigration; depression, discrimination and etc that Chinese had suffer in the old age. This is a book for older people. Special graph, chart, and picture are included in the book. Each topic is too long to read.
Huang, Evelyn and Jeffery, Lawrence, Chinese Canadians, McCelland and Steuwartin: Toronto, 1982.
~ Biographies of different Chinese Canadian who grow in Canada. Interviews with Dock Yip, Lee Bick, Bob Lee and etc. This is a great book for young adult and adult to read. It contains many pictures of different people and event. There is no weakness in this book.
Li, Peter S., The Chinese in Canada, Oxford University Press Canada: Canada, 1988.~ This is a book that explaining why the Chinese come to Canada and how their life was in Canada. It contains summary of Chinese Emigration, Racism, Social aspect, and etc. Special References are provided for reader to follow. Weakness is no special picture, chart and graph.
Tan, Amy, The Joy Luck Club, Thorndike Press: Maine, 1989.~ This is a novel written by Amy Tan. The story of this novel is about the cultural gap held between the four immigrant family. The mothers, all born in China, tell about hardships and misery, family pride and the fear of losing face. And the American-born daughters try to reconcile their personalities, shaped by American standards, with seemingly irrational maternal expectations. This book is great for young adult and adult. There is no weakness in this book.
Yee, Paul, Saltwater City, University of Washington Press: United States, 1988.~ This book especially talk about the salt-water city which is Vancouver and the old Chinese Canadian. It talk about early Chinatown, the community grows, depression and war, and postwar. This book is best for all ages, easy to read. This book contains a lot of wonderful pictures, stories and etc. There is no weakness for this book.
Suzuki, David, “Ancestors - The Genetic Source and Selected Essay”, Mcillian: Toronto, 1984.
~ This article is written by David Suzuki. In this article, he argues that the primary determinant of behavior is environmental. Human personality and begavior are conditioned by society. This is an article for adult. The examples being used in this article were great. There is no weakness in this article.
